Rejuvenation of the face and neck

Face lifting, also called rіdіktemіya. There are different methods of lifting today. It is the classical surgical methods of tightening, and the use of special face implants, or usage of fillets.

All methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, when choosing one or another method of the skin rejuvenating and face lifting, you should know if it suits you and will you get the most desired result.

Recently, the injection procedures become more popular now. The doctor, with the help of a syringe and a needle, puts a gel under the skin. However, it is important to understand that all gels work only for a certain time (usually a few months, or a year maximum), while a surgical facelifting gives a result for 10 years!

The reasons of the skin sagging in the face and neck are the weakness of connective tissues, combined with the age-related formation of elastic and collagen fibers. Laughter and tears, a smile and anger – is accompanied by emotions and facial mimic expressions and thus provokes the beginning of aging. Important factors in the rapid face aging are the alcohol or nicotine abuse, poorly balanced diet, tough diets, bad illness and periods of life with excessive psychological and social stress.

Facial muscles, that form the face, can lose their tone and elasticity because of losing moisture. So the sagging areas appear on forehead and eyebrows, cheeks, nasolabial folds and overhanging folds of skin on the neck. But there is a solution!

Age limit

Usually, facelifting is recommended for people after 40 to 65 years. We can explain this age limit. Facial tightening for patients under the age of 40 is not an obligatory procedure; you can effectively solve the problem with non-surgical methods. After 65 years the surgery can lead to negative consequences, because the skin’s ability to regenerate significantly decreases.

Indications for the operation

  • sagging skin of eyebrows and forehead;
  • omission of tissues of the eyelids;
  • omission of outer corners of eyes;
  • significant nasolabial folds;
  • ptosis of soft tissue cheeks;
  • double chin

Below you can see the list of different kinds of wrinkles on the face that appear with the age and change the expression of the face.

  1. Wrinkles of the forehead and over the eyebrows.
  2. Layers between the eyebrows.
  3. Peryorbital wrinkles or “duck feet”.
  4. Nasolabial folds.
  5. Periary wrinkles (above the upper lip).
  6. So-called wrinkles of sorrow – mentolabial.
  7. Wrinkles of laughter.

Contraindications for the facelift

  • infectious and oncological diseases;
  • problems with blood coagulation;
  • diabetes;
  • exacerbation of chronic diseases.

Aesthetic facial surgery should focus on the 3 following aspects:

  • Movement of omitted structures;
  • Removal of wrinkles;
  • Feeding the volume in those parts of the face, where it is not enough

From a surgical point of view, faces are divided into four zones:

  • Forehead
  • The middle part of the face
  • Cheeks
  • Neck

Each of the zone is individual, so the process of aging passes in a different way. For example, if you have a double chin, you have no wrinkles on the cheeks.

All four zones of the face should be treated as separate areas for correction. Each of them has different correction procedures, which differ in efficiency and capacity of intervention.

The purpose of cosmetic surgery on the face is:

  • the recovery of a young face without loss of its cognition,
  • the achievement of harmonious features,
  • proportions and volume like a young person has,
  • to return the patient what he had a time ago and what the environment has slowly taken away from him.

Facial plastic – methods:

Face lifting can only affect the face and neck. During the operation, classical cuts are performed with the output on the occipital part, together with subsequent adjustment of the position of the facial tissues, their fixation and cutting off extra skin. The use of modern suture materials helps to achieve non visible scars. Face-lifting effect can last for several years, in general.

Face lifting can be done using the technology of SMAS (so-called SMAS-lifting). The correction is done on the muscular-aponeurotic layer, which is located under the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Such face plastic pulls the skin off due to the tension, and a new face oval being formed.

If it is a partial facelift – then in combination with skin fragments fascia and chewing muscles are adjusted. This effect lasts for 4-6 years. With a completed pull-up of fascia and chewing muscle, an oval of the face is kept for 10-12 years.

The facelift can be supplemented with a forearm plastic, which is actually a separate operation and allows you to eliminate deep wrinkles and eyebrow “hanging”.

Endoscopic lifting makes it possible to correct the isolated defects of the tissues of the neck and face. It focuses on middle aged patients (30 to 45). Typically, this facelift is performed for the middle face and forehead. The result is the elimination of wrinkles in the forehead, the lifting of the cuticles of the eyes, adjusting the shape and position of the eyebrows. Preservation of the effect – more than 5 years.

Face plastic of this type is performed surgically with the help of an endoscope (minicamers) and an optical fiber instrument – through a small incision instruments and optics are introduced into an area that is subject to correction. The ability to control the facelift progress on the monitor allows you to carry out the operations as accurately as possible.

Operation:

An accurate, predominantly s-shaped cut is struck out and made after local skin anesthesia. Additionally, in minilifting, the maintenance of the subcutaneous layer is supported, since in this case the effect persists for a longer time, and the stretch is not applied to the skin, but to the subcutaneous layer (SMAS) and the muscular system, thereby preventing the formation of a broad scar. Thus, the bracing is carried out while preserving the natural appearance (the absence of a face-mask)..

Anesthetics:

In most cases, minilifting is performed ambulatory under local anxiety. Treatment is possible under general anesthesia.

The clinic stay period:

One-day hospital stay in a clinic is not mandatory, but possible at the patient’s request.

Recommendations in the post-operative period:

The tendency to swelling in this type of surgery is negligible, despite this, it is still desirable to keep the head in a raised position for at least 3 days, to apply moderately cooled compresses, to avoid physical activity. The first re-examination by the doctor – one day after the operation, seams are removed for 12-14 days after the operation.
